How to Apply for Undergraduate Courses in Berlin

Students can apply for undergraduate courses at MetFilm School Berlin directly through our website.

Applicants under the age of 21:

Applicants under the age of 21 must provide evidence of meeting the UCAS Tariff for their chosen course. Applicants may also provide equivalent qualifications, specified below. We will convert your grades into UCAS points upon application, but if you need more information, please visit the UCAS Tariff Table.

If you are over the age of 21:

If you are over the age of 21, you are considered a mature student, so your application relies on relevant skills and experience rather than academic qualifications.

The selection for mature students takes into account previous experience alongside academic requirements. Applicants will be guided through the application process by a member of our Admissions Team, who will evaluate how your experience will support your undergraduate education.

We recommend applicants who are unsure if their qualifications meet the academic criteria submit their application, and we will then be able to make a full assessment.

Application Deadlines

We qualify applications and interview suitable candidates on a first-come first-served basis, and accept applications until the available spaces have been filled.

We highly recommend that international applicants who require a visa pay their final installment no later than May, so that they can start the visa application process before June. This is advisable due to extremely high demand for study visa interview appointments, which can lead to waiting times of several months for an appointment, with an additional 6-12 week validation period. Please check the German embassy’s website in your country of residence for country specific timelines or contact Admissions for advice.

To ensure your application process goes smoothly, we advise you to discuss your application with a member of the MetFilm School Berlin Admissions Team, who will be able to advise you on all queries.

Language Requirements

For all our undergraduate courses, we require an IELTS overall score of 6.5 (or equivalent), with at least a 6.5 in writing, and 5.5 in listening, reading, and speaking. You must prove you can read, write, speak, and understand English to a certain level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale.

Alternatively to IELTS, the following tests are satisfactory to demonstrate B2 English Level: IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge PET, ESOL Skills for Life Level 1 and 2, Trinity Level 1. Upon receipt of your application the Admissions Team will contact you if we require proof of your language ability.

For our Berlin campus, applicants studying on undergraduate courses from the EU/EEA can prove their level of English through their final English grades from high school, or if they have previously studied a degree that was delivered in English. If their English grades do not meet the requirements, they will then need to sit an IELTS or TOEFL.

You do not need to prove your knowledge of English if you are from one of the following countries or territories, or if you have completed a qualification equivalent to a UK degree in one of them:
