Nora Mandray

Nora Mandray is an award-winning French filmmaker based in Berlin. From 2011 to 2012, Mandray lived in Detroit in order to write and direct a trilogy of short documentaries about the bankrupt city’s reinvention.

Its first installment, 3 Acres in Detroit, premiered at the Berlinale in 2014 and has screened worldwide since – it tells the story of a willful urban farmer who sets out to transform an abandoned house into a greenhouse. Mandray holds a double-Master’s degree from the University of California-Los Angeles film school and from the Institute of Political Sciences in Paris.
